Thanks to Jayne at Clear Pathway Hypnotherapy , who welcomed our bakers into her home & studio. We baked on a theme of Spring cakes & the entrance fee was kindly donated to City Hearts charity in Sheffield for easter eggs !
Jayne made a Hummingbird cake , on the left with fruit, pineapple, carrot and olive oil. Hummingbird refers to the bird who comes back in the Spring. It had cream cheese, butter icing with cinnamon. Anne made the wonderfully decorated Spring cake & in the spirit of Clandestine cake tried using Rosewater for the first time, and making fondant icing decorations for the first time… looked so professional , with snail, leaves , bees & caterpillar . She filled the cake with strawberry & mascarpone .
Here are the Easter eggs Jayne purchased for City hearts . Next cake is the fab Elderflower & Wild flower from Karen W . It had white chocolate ganache , and an angel sponge , with elderflower cordial flavouring. The decorations were crystalised primroses . Karen says crystalise them at least 5 days in advance .
Liz made a fresh lemon sponge cake with lemon curd filling , she freestyled the daffodils in fondant icing looking very arts and crafts . Jasmine made a banana cake with a yummy gooy melted choc topping with lots of eastery eggs for the spring theme.
